World Cup opener in Pietermaritzburg

Two days of travel in each direction, the trip to the World Cup opener in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa is definitely the longest of the season!

Sam Dale and Julien Camellini, along with Kévin Allemand the team mechanic left on monday for this event. Wednesday and Thursday, training goes smoothly, riders are getting use to the track and adjust their bike a little more specifically. Friday is qualifier day, all goes well, Sam gets a solid 33rd and Julien very comfortable on this track gets a 3rd, a great performance, that allows some hope for a great season! However on Sunday, things didn’t really turn out as expected, Sam makes a few mistakes and ends up 34th, but the most disapointed is Julien whom gets a mechanical right from the start, which doesn’t let him get his full potential. Julien still manages to get 19th, a very respectable performance, but quite far from his goal.
