For the 3rd time (2006, 2009 and now 2010) I win this race.

The general level was high with many top riders attending the race.

Everything was ok during qualifications where my goal was not necessarly to win against all the top women downhillers but after doing the holeshot I’ve made the gap in the technical section and then I have maintain the distance until the arrival.

9am the next day, it’s race day. As expected the snow has melt a lot at the top with the high temperatures. Because of this I struggle a little bit at the start and decide to follow the girl in front of me, until she falls off. I’m then leading the mass and manage to stay on my bike on the steep snowy section. On the flatter section I have no choice but push my bike riding wet snow.

At the end of the galcier I’m leading by 1 min and from now on I’m trying to increase the gap before the long pedaling section so that the competitors cannot see me anymore.

With more than 4 minutes while arriving at the Alpe d’huez I can now relax more and manage the bottom section without taking any risk.

At the finish line, the gap is almost the same, almost 5 minutes on the World Champion Emeline RAGOT and a lot more on the others.

My time of 1 houd and 07 minute will classify me in the top 50 out of 1800 riders !
